Gay calendar
Note: Traveling as an LGBTQ+ person always carries a certain degree of risk. It is our reality as we navigate a nature with 60+ countries criminalizing our relationships and a rise in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation around the world. We encourage our traveling collective to understand the laws and cultural challenges they may face in any destination they choose to attend for Pride and beyond. Don't be afraid of the world, but always research information specific to your travels. Enjoy Pride, be vigilant, and look out for each other!
The LGBTQ+ rights movement has made tremendous strides over the past several decades and much of the progress in awareness is thanks in part to gay pride parades and marches that own taken place in cities around the world.
The global landscape for LGBTQ+ rights, protections and acceptance varies tremendously by location, with some destinations attracting millions of visitors to their events like Madrid Homosexual Pride, Sao Paulo Queer Pride or San Francisco Gay Pride, while more than 70 other countries have laws that permit discrimination or persecution of LGBTQ+ people.

Media coverage of these and other non-LGBTQ focused moments should incorporate LGBTQ people and the intersections of LGBTQ people and the respective topic.

LGBTQ+ Festivals & Events
Attending an LGBTQ+ festival or event is a great way to celebrate as a community even outside of pride season. Whether it's music, art, food, sports or dance as the theme, our voice and presence as an Diverse community is stronger when we come together.
What Gentle of LGBTQ+ Events Will I Find Here?
We compiled a global calendar of festivals and events around the world that include an LGBTQ+ theme but are not specifically identity festival events. Since pride events are so common and numerous, we've created a completely separate calendar including hundreds of events around the world—click here to view our Gay Lgbtq+ fest Calendar. The events on this list include a variety of festivals, gatherings or events with diverse themes ranging from song, art, food, sports, boogie, advocacy, comedy and more. While each event may be different, the shared thread that binds all these together events is the celebration within the LGBTQ+ community.
