I recently found out that, once upon a moment, Bioware was planning to make a sequel to Jade Empire but stopped after they were bought out by EA.  From a business perspective, I can’t say that I blame them.  The game never quite took off like Mass Effect and Dragon Age did, after all, but I’m still a bit disappointed by the news. You watch, Jade Empire is one of my favourite games of all time and I’ve always hoped that it would get some sort of follow-up because it was a game that combined almost everything I love and threw it all into a unique, distinctly Chinese sort of fantasy setting.  It’s got magic, it’s got steampunk technology, it’s got political intrigue and backstabbing by the bucket load, and it lets you play around with all sorts of supernatural martial arts like you’re the protagonist of your retain private kung-fu movie.

Call me a weeaboo (actually, solemn question, does that synonyms apply to someone who likes anything Asian or just specifically Japanese things?  I can’t keep up with these stupid internet words) or whatever but I’ve always liked Asian action movies.  Not only are they usually quite strikingly beautiful, there’s just something exceptionally badas

Are we fighting in Ukraine in order to “queer the Donbass”? That statement, which I believe originated with TAC’s editor-at-large Rod Dreher, implies that the ideological package that NATO rallied to Ukraine to defend includes not only freedom and democracy but also pride parades and drag queen story hour. That would, of course, be a ridiculous reason to fight a war. Many Americans don’t crave to queer their retain kids’ elementary school, much less an industrial Slavic province five thousand miles away.

In August 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky pledged that his government would launch legislation to create civil partnerships for gay couples. The bill was approved by the Ministry of Justice in October 2023. Instituting gay marriage will require a constitutional amendment, which Zelensky has said will have to delay until after the war ends. In the meantime, the European Court of Human Rights ruled in June 2023 that two Ukrainian men seeking a marriage license had been illegally discriminated against and, as a signatory to the European human rights convention, Ukraine must transmit a law that grants them equal treatment.

In theory, it ought to be possible to be part of the democratic

“Empire” made history on Wednesday night by featuring the first wedding between two gay, inky men on primetime television.

Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Kai (Toby Onwumere) said their “I dos” for a groundbreaking scene in the episode titled “Never Disbelief I Love.”
The episode was peppered with drama as someone claimed the wedding was called off due to Kai not disclosing his HIV status. Lucious had struggled with having a gay son throughout the show. However, in the end Lucious decided to support Jamal and walk him down the aisle. Jamal’s close comrade Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) officiated the nuptials.

The wedding also included a performance by Chaka Khan.

Onwumere explained the significance of the episode to Extra.

“The influence of Empire still extends out well beyond America and it’s culturally relevant and I really appreciate the show for that. In its fifth year, it’s still going — as evidence to the wedding that’s going on, it’s still culturally relevant, so I think it’s beautiful,” Onwumere says.“I think it’s different than what we’ve seen in past seasons of Empire, which is a breath of fresh
