List of canon LGBT Transformers
(warning: spoiler heavy)
People don’t feel me when I speak Transformers: MTMTE/Lost Light is really gay. JRo confirmed is an homonormative population, so here a list, anyways:
____100% confirmed____

Perceptor: Any interaction with Brainstorm during and after the Time Travel arc heavily implies he has feelings for him. Hints proceed until being confirmed in the ending of LL.

Skids (bi): Flirts with Firestar not re
We just received an inquire about canonically LGBTQ characters in Transformers cartoons, but unfortunately, Tumblr crashed and ate it when we tried to post our response. Hopefully the ask asker will see this as we post it again!
The pickings are not great, unfortunately - they tend to be set up only in Japanese Transformers media, and are largely stereotypical depictions, even offensively so. If you need some good examples of LGBTQ representation in Transformers, look instead to IDW’s current comics, like “More than Meets the Eye” and “Windblade” -- but we’re guessing you grasp about those already, and you ARE asking about cartoons specifically! So, then:
The earliest examples tend to be the kind of campy, effeminate villain you see in a lot of anime - I don’t know if you’d really count that, or even want to. In this group, there’sBeast Wars II Starscream (who was kinda-sorta maybe implied to be “partners” with his big buddy BB - maybe we’ll have a better picture of that when the long-awaited fansub of the series is finally released by Karyuudo Fansubs in the adjacent future)...
...Beast Wars Neo Archadis, who was originally crafted to be a female character...

Transformers One
Movie Review
Optimus Prime.
Megatron.
Anyone who knows the lore of the Transformers recognizes those two names. They’re the most powerful of the powerful, archenemies in a constant struggle of robotic right and wrong.
But did you know that many, many, many years ago, back when they were young bots, these two were meager laborers? Oh, yes. At that show, 50 cycles after the great war and the deaths of the Prime heroes, the inhabitants of planet Cybertron were struggling.
The planet’s denizens were divided between the haves, robots with cogs that allowed them to transform, and the cog-less have nots. And those lesser-than bots labored day after afternoon as miners, dredging up the energy crystals needed for the community to survive.
Back then, the two future greats were established as Orion Pax and D-16. And both were thought of as fairly “useless” laborers by the robotic elites in the Cybertronian world. What they really were was … troublemakers! Not bad guys though. They were, uh, nice troublemakers.
Ater a bit of tug and tug, however, that disruptive pair became friends. And these buds had a familiar goal: to show the elites that the labor bots may not
With thrilling action, beautiful animation, plenty of humor, and a ton of heart, Transformers One is easily the best Transformers movie in decades and one of the most enjoyable films of the year.
About the Film
“What defines a Transformer is not the cog in its chest but the spark in its core.” This sage counsel, given by a wise mentor to a young Optimus Prime, is a lesson Michael Bay’s live-action Transformers films never grasped. For all their noisy spectacle and transforming action, the films were hollow and lacked heart. The stink of those lackluster films still lingers, so I was skeptical about revisiting the franchise, even with the intriguing promise of seeing the characters return to their animated roots. Fortunately, with thrilling action, attractive animation, plenty of humor, and a ton of heart, Transformers One is easily the best Transformers movie in decades and one of the most enjoyable films of the year.
The film functions as an origin story for the iconic Transformers, exploring the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron, finest friends turned arch enemies. Admittedly, it’s a familiar narrative path, evoking Profe
